Pest Control
Te tiaki i o tatou momo maori
Protecting our native species
Effective pest control can aid in maintaining the health and integrity of water quality and improve biodiversity. We work collaboratively with property owners, the community, experts and agencies to understand the pests within the catchment. We aim to address these challenges comprehensively and sustainably to ensure the long-term health and resilience of our ecosystems.Â
pest survey
Implementing a consistent, community-wide approach to pest and predator control is widely acknowledged as an efficient method for reducing predator presence and enhancing biodiversity. Mangatangi Maramarua Catchment is exploring how we, as a wider community, can work together to achieve our predator control goals. A pest survey in our catchment, led by Cam Speedy, a renowned predator expert, has provided a benchmark of pest presence. This will help develop a community-wide, species-targeted animal pest control programme. To get the latest updates or become part of this programme contact us.
